The challenge
The Swiss technology transfer center for material analytics, ANAXAM, was looking for a solution to build a central contact database in Switzerland. This database needed to effectively manage and address various target groups—such as members, sponsors, partners, customers, and leads—on an individual level. The system also had to support the easy creation and management of target group-specific newsletters and event invitations in two languages. As a publicly funded non-profit association, compliance with the new Swiss Data Protection Act (nFADP) and the EU’s GDPR was of considerable importance.
The approach
ANAXAM chose Friendly Automate because the modern software solution stores all customer data securely in Switzerland. Friendly’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), Lukas Sigel, supported ANAXAM in designing a custom bilingual newsletter template. This allows ANAXAM staff to quickly and easily create both newsletters and transactional emails. Friendly Automate also integrates centralized analysis of email statistics, customer satisfaction surveys, and event registrations. This opens up great potential for ANAXAM to strengthen relationships with existing members and customers, while reaching out to new target audiences.
The result
Thanks to Friendly Automate, ANAXAM can now significantly enrich its existing customer data, store it securely in Switzerland, and put it to effective use. This has greatly increased the motivation of ANAXAM’s CTO, Matthias Wagner, to run targeted campaigns, resulting in an 80–90% increase in lead generation — mainly through proactive outreach before and after events. The exchange of information with customers and members has also been sustainably improved. Friendly’s Swiss data hosting fosters trust among ANAXAM’s supporters, partners, and customers.
