As early as 2020, we made a promise to donate 1% of our revenue. Now we can finally fulfill it in full.
As an Open Startup, we have made our values, goals and principles public in a manifesto.
In addition to other value propositions such as data protection, friendliness and our Exist strategy, we also promise to donate 1% of our revenue to public-interest organizations and projects.
Since our foundation, we have already made contributions, but we have not yet fulfilled our donation promise in full because our finances were so tight. Now we want to change that.
From now on, we will donate 1% of our revenue each month. Based on the average revenue of the last six months, our donation percentage is currently CHF 283 per month.
In order to fully live up to our responsibility, we have also decided to eliminate our donation deficit of the last few years in monthly installments of CHF 108 over the next 24 months.
This means that our donation target is now CHF 391 per month – a commitment that we will implement with dedication.
These are our donations in detail:
Memberships in non-profit organizations in the software and data protection sector
With our memberships, we support organizations that are committed to open standards, open source and data protection and help shape a responsible digital future in Switzerland.
- Mautic (via Open Source Collective): Mautic is an open source software that makes marketing automation accessible to companies worldwide. We offer Mautic as Friendly Automate to our customers and, as a community member, contribute USD 1 200 annually to the promotion and further development of this platform.
- CH Open: CH Open is committed to promoting open standards and open source software in Switzerland. With our collective membership of CHF 450 per year, we support this initiative and the implementation of its objectives.
- eCH: eCH develops and promotes digital standards for the Swiss economy and administration. With a company membership (CHF 100 per year), we contribute to the creation and distribution of these standards.
- Digitale Gesellschaft: Digitale Gesellschaft ampaigns for data protection and fundamental rights in our digitally networked world in Switzerland. We support their work with a patron membership of CHF 250 per year.

Monthly donations to charitable organizations
In view of our prosperity in Switzerland, we also want to use our opportunities to support organizations that are committed to social justice, integration, sustainability and equal opportunities in Switzerland and worldwide.
We therefore submit monthly donations to the following charitable organizations:
- Swiss Refugee Council: The Swiss Refugee Council is committed to protecting and supporting refugees in Switzerland. We contribute CHF 80 per month to their important work.
- Schweizer Tafel: The Schweizer Tafel supports socially underprivileged people in Switzerland with free food and at the same time counteracts food waste. We support this valuable initiative with CHF 80 per month.
- SWISSAID: With a further CHF 80 per month, we support SWISSAID’s commitment to sustainable development and poverty reduction worldwide.
These contributions amount to CHF 240 per month for charitable purposes.

Our contribution to society
As a result, a total of CHF 393 per month goes to projects that on the one hand promote the responsible shaping of the future of digital technologies and on the other hand enable disadvantaged people to participate more fairly in a good future.
