This is what moved us in October:

Strong revenue growth of +8%, costs down

In October, our monthly recurring revenue (MRR) increased strongly by +8% to CHF 11,231 (~$12,192), marking the second consecutive month of growth after the +6% in September.

Our costs decreased slightly by -2% to CHF 12,825 (~$13,927), mainly due to somewhat lower investments in advertising. As a result, the loss fell by -42% to “only” CHF 1,594 (~ -$1,692).

We were also particularly pleased with the increase in orders for trial versions of over +129% in October. A total of 16 companies took the opportunity to test our products free of charge for 14 days.

Once again for October we are sharing all of our costs including salaries. Here they are:

Friendly now offers 6 weeks paid vacation

When I published our employment contracts in September, the biggest criticism was the length of the vacation entitlement.

Since we did not specifically define it, the Swiss Code of Obligations stipulated an entitlement of 4 weeks per year. Many felt that this was unattractive and too little.

I wasn’t intentionally skimping on the vacations at the time. I simply had not considered this point.

Thanks to the publication of the contracts, we have received valuable feedback.

And in October, we implemented some of that: the vacation entitlement of all Friendly employees increases to six weeks per year, retroactive to the date of hire!

Not because outsiders demand it. But because I am convinced that it is right.

More working days does not mean more productivity. When employees are refreshed and inspired, they get more done in less time. And they’re happier too.

How else could we improve our working conditions? Feel free to let us know.
