{"id":1589,"date":"2021-02-22T14:28:00","date_gmt":"2021-02-22T13:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/friendly.is\/en\/?p=1589"},"modified":"2021-03-20T16:12:10","modified_gmt":"2021-03-20T15:12:10","slug":"january-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/friendly.ch\/en\/january-2021","title":{"rendered":"+10% Revenue and a New Email Editor for Friendly Automate: Open Startup Report January 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Our revenue increased to $7,142, our customers sent almost half a million emails and the new email editor for Friendly Automate is finally ready: welcome to our Open Startup report for January 2021.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">January at Friendly in the Numbers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-4143bc8f-e125-48c3-8a54-47284d2dc94d\"><li>\ud83d\udcb5 MRR (Monthly Recurring Revenue): $7,142 (+5%)<\/li><li>\ud83e\udd1d New Customers: 9 (+80%)<\/li><li>\ud83e\udd29 Upgrades: 3 (-25%)<\/li><li>\ud83d\udc94 Churn (cancellations): 1 (-75%)<\/li><li>\ud83d\udc69 Active customers: 57 (+16%)<\/li><li>\ud83d\udc4b New Trials: 11 (-42%)<\/li><li>\ud83d\udd0e Website Visits: 2,262 (-12%)<\/li><li>\ud83d\udcee Emails Sent (Automate): 496,207 (+200% ! )<\/li><li>\ud83d\udcc8 Pageviews Tracked (Analytics): 1,130,021 (+5%)<\/li><li>\ud83d\udcb8 Costs: $8,974 (+7%)<\/li><li>\ud83e\uddfe Profit and Loss: -$1,553 (+20%)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This is what moved us in&nbsp;January:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Revenue and costs increased<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our MRR increased by +5% to $7,142. At the same time, unfortunately, our costs also increased by +7%, mainly due to a more accurate calculation of our partner commissions. This increased the loss by 20% to -$1,553.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are all our costs in January in detail:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignwide size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1138\" height=\"1272\" src=\"https:\/\/friendly.is\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/03\/friendly-costs-january-2021.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1595\" srcset=\"https:\/\/friendly.ch\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/03\/friendly-costs-january-2021.jpg 1138w, https:\/\/friendly.ch\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/03\/friendly-costs-january-2021-268x300.jpg 268w, https:\/\/friendly.ch\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/03\/friendly-costs-january-2021-540x604.jpg 540w, https:\/\/friendly.ch\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/03\/friendly-costs-january-2021-1080x1207.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1138px) 100vw, 1138px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our customers sent half a million emails<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In January, our sending volume increased by an incredible +200% to a new record of 496,207 emails sent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apparently our customers had a lot to talk about at the beginning of the year \ud83d\ude0e<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More upgrades and a security patch for Friendly Automate<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/friendly.is\/en\/automate\">Friendly Automate<\/a> is based on the open source software Mautic. In December, we upgraded the first customer to the new version 3 of Mautic.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In January, we upgraded more customers to the new version. We also closed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mautic.org\/blog\/community\/security-release-all-versions-mautic-prior-2-16-5-and-3-2-4\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">critical security vulnerability<\/a> in Mautic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to our close partnership with Mautic, we received the patch a day before the official release and were thus able to fix all customer instances with it before the vulnerability became public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">We\u2019re an LLC now<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1096\" height=\"575\" src=\"https:\/\/friendly.is\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/01\/friendly-llc.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1479\" srcset=\"https:\/\/friendly.ch\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/01\/friendly-llc.png 1096w, https:\/\/friendly.ch\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/01\/friendly-llc-300x157.png 300w, https:\/\/friendly.ch\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/01\/friendly-llc-540x283.png 540w, https:\/\/friendly.ch\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/01\/friendly-llc-1080x567.png 1080w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1096px) 100vw, 1096px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Since January Friendly is a limited liability company. You can find <a href=\"https:\/\/friendly.is\/en\/friendly-llc\">more about it here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Outlook: new email editor for Friendly Automate<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;ve announced the improved email editor for Friendly Automate several times, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mautic.org\/blog\/community\/mautic-3-3-building-blocks-success\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mautic 3.3<\/a> it&#8217;s finally becoming a reality \ud83e\udd73<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are proud that we actively supported its development through the corresponding project team.
