Instead, we now offer a 30-day money-back guarantee.
If Friendly Analytics does not meet your expectations, contact us within the first 30 days. We will then refund your payment in full—no questions asked.
How do I get started?
It’s simple:

3. We create your account – Our team sets up your account manually to ensure everything is configured correctly
4. Get access – You’ll receive your login credentials within 24 hours

How easy is it to set up Friendly Analytics?
Very easy. Most customers are up and running in under 15 minutes.
Here’s how it works:
1. Install the tracking code. Choose your method:

- Install via the Tag Manager

Data protection and security
Where is the data stored and who has access?
We host Friendly Analytics exclusively in Swiss data centers with high security standards. The servers are operated by our ISO-certified hosting partners Infomaniak, Netstream, and Hosttech. Access to the data is limited to our internal team and is strictly for administrative purposes.
Does Friendly Analytics comply with Swiss data protection law (nFADP) and the GDPR?
Yes. Friendly Analytics is based on the open-source software Matomo and complies with both the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP) and the GDPR. We focus on data minimization, secure storage, and full data sovereignty for our customers.
What are the most important privacy settings?
Key settings include cookie-less operation, IP address anonymization, hiding URL parameters, and refraining from cross-device tracking without consent. Our software configuration is privacy-friendly by default.
Do I need a cookie banner?
It depends on your configuration and audience. With the default settings, Friendly Analytics runs entirely without cookies, so a banner is usually not required. If you enable cookie-based analytics features and target customers in the EU, a banner becomes necessary. We are happy to advise.
How long are my data retained?
You can set the retention period in Friendly Analytics. By default, raw data such as individual page views and events are deleted after a preset period, while aggregated reports are retained. If desired, you can set the retention period to unlimited.
Can you provide contracts like DPA, DORA, or NDA?
Yes. We have extensive experience with regulatory requirements and can provide all necessary enterprise-level agreements (e.g. DPA, DORA, NDA, SLA).

Yes. Friendly Analytics is built on Matomo, the trusted open-source platform used by the UN, CNIL, and the European Commission. Our platform is enhanced to meet Swiss quality and privacy standards.

Data import, export, and migration
Can I import data from Google Analytics?
Yes. We can import almost all historical Google Analytics data into Friendly Analytics. Since this is a manual process, we bill for the time required.
Can I migrate data from other solutions?
Yes, in many cases migration is possible, either via existing import functions or custom scripts. Contact us to explore the options.
Can I export my data?
Yes. All collected data belong to you. We can transfer your data at any time to another Matomo instance. For Enterprise customers, we also offer a full database export. Exports are performed manually and billed based on effort.
Usage and integration
What happens if I exceed my traffic limits?
We’ll never cut off your tracking or surprise you with extra charges.
If you consistently exceed your plan’s traffic limit, we’ll reach out to help you upgrade to the right tier. It’s a smooth, transparent process.
You can monitor your usage in real-time from your dashboard.
Can I run Friendly Analytics alongside Google Analytics?
Yes, you can integrate Friendly Analytics in parallel, for example to compare numbers during testing.
Can I track iOS and Android mobile apps?
Yes. For mobile apps, you can use the official Matomo SDKs for iOS, Android, and many programming languages.
Does Friendly Analytics support SPAs and PWAs?
Yes. Friendly Analytics provides dedicated tracking methods for SPAs and PWAs to correctly capture page views and interactions.
Does Friendly Analytics have an API?
Yes. Friendly Analytics offers a comprehensive reporting API to automate data retrieval. You can also get a live export link for each report and integrate it with tools like Tableau or Metabase.
Ad performance and campaign measurement
Can I track conversions for Google or Bing Ads?
Yes, and without placing their tracking codes on your site. With our “Advertising Conversion Export” feature, we send conversions directly via API to Google or Bing in a privacy-friendly way, without disclosing additional personal data. This is the most privacy-friendly way to measure ad conversions and optimize your campaigns.

How is billing calculated?
We bill based on the number of monthly hits. A hit is any request to the analytics server, for example tracking a page view, an event, a download, a click on an external link, an on-site search, or a content view.
Which additional features are included?
Friendly Analytics always includes the full Matomo feature set, including e-commerce tracking, conversion export, segmentation, API access, and heatmaps. A complete overview is available on our features page.
